Since Roe has been overturned, the SiX Reproductive Rights team has heard questions from legislators about the impact of abortion restrictions on pregnancy management, particularly on ectopic pregnancies.

Bottom line: the legal implications of ectopic pregnancy and abortion are very different. Treatment of an ectopic pregnancy is legally permissible. Abortion bans do not and should not prevent the treatment of ectopic pregnancies, even in states that have banned abortion.
