La visita a la clínica es parte de un recorrido organizado por Women’s Equality Center (WEC) y State Innovation Exchange (SiX), dos ONG con sede en EE.UU. El objetivo es reunir a legisladores de ese país y de México y Argentina, que apoyan la marea verde, para compartir estrategias en la defensa de los derechos sexuales y reproductivos ante la avanzada conservadora. Especialmente después de la anulación, el 24 de junio de 2022, del histórico fallo Roe vs Wade por la Corte Suprema, que abrió la puerta para que 21 estados –de los 50 que hay– endurezcan sus legislaciones con nuevos límites o prohibiciones para interrumpir voluntariamente un embarazo. The visit to the clinic is part of a tour organized by the Women’s Equality Center (WEC) and State Innovation Exchange (SiX), two NGOs based in the U.S. The aim is to bring together legislators from the U.S., Mexico, and Argentina who support the green wave to share strategies for defending sexual and reproductive rights in the face of the conservative advance. This is especially relevant after the historic Roe v. Wade ruling was overturned on June 24, 2022, by the Supreme Court, which opened the door for 21 states—out of the 50 in the U.S.—to tighten their laws with new limits or bans abortions. The trip is a tour into the heart of a model—with limited rights for women—that Javier Milei admires.
