To celebrate Black Maternal Health Week April 11-17, 2025, SiX Repro hosted In Our Own Voice: National Black Women’s Reproductive Justice Agenda. With a profound sense of urgency and a call to action, Bridgette Jackson, JD, joined the Rapid Response Room to share their 2025 Reproductive Justice Policy Agenda. In collaboration with the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, and the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum, the agenda addresses urgent realities and builds a path forward, centering three key pillars of reproductive justice: Healthy Body, Healthy Families and Communities, and Healthy Democracy.

Their powerful presentation discussed the stark policy landscape of health care for transgender youth, the chilling rate of progress of banning best practice medical care, updated research on effective messaging, and the high success rate of states fighting back and defeating bad bills.

SiX Repro Rapid Response Room: New Medication Abortion Regimen Study
Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, CEO of Power to Decide, and Mary Alice Carter, Vice President of the communications firm Conway Strategic, discussed new research involving a potential medication abortion regimen. Given anti-abortion and anti-contraception policymakers' propensity for manipulating and conflating the facts, state legislators in SiX’s network were provided with the information to feel confident in their knowledge and prepared to combat any misinformation or legislative attacks in their statehouses.
What to Expect for 2025 State Legislative Sessions
State Innovation Exchange and the Guttmacher Institute hosted a webinar for legislators and state advocates to discuss preparing for the 2025 state legislative sessions. State reproductive health, rights, and justice advocates highlighted which policies were passed in 2024 and how to prepare for 2025, including both proactive and defensive work. Speakers included Briana Perry from Healthy and Free Tennessee, Michelle Erenberg from LIFT Louisiana, and Anatasia Martinez from the Ohio Women’s Alliance.
